“The book is exceptional. I will be ordering another copy shortly; I want to give it as a gift. Your story and the thoughts you have so carefully chosen and poured onto paper need to be shared.
My grandmother actually read the book before I did. When the order arrived in the mail, I was in the middle of another book, but I noticed her looking at the cover with great interest. So I told her, ‘You can read it.’ My grandmother usually prefers newspapers, leaving no page unread. She reads them aloud, and she did the same with this book.
I happened to be there when she was still on the first few pages. I was preparing lunch, and she was reading aloud. When she reached the following sentence and read it for the first time, she stopped:
‘If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.’
Martin Luther King Jr.
She then read it three more times, after which she put the book down and said to me, ‘It’s a shame you didn’t buy this book sooner. But it’s not too late, and it’s right that you did. It will be a good companion for your life’s journey. The author has gathered the greatest of life’s wisdoms all in one place.’
Her words were a real wake-up call for me. At ninety years old and after countless experiences, a person knows what they’re talking about. Of course, I read the book myself immediately after she did.
David, your story is something special, and everyone will surely find something within it to help them achieve their life goals. Thank you for sharing it with us.
